I don’t know about you, but I’ve eaten so many Halloween treats that I don’t even want to look at another mini Twix or Twizzler. I’m ready to turn over a new leaf (yet another new leaf! I’m forever turning over a new leaf) and snack on something much healthier, something that’s going to keep my energy up throughout the day. Maple Leaf Foods sent me some of their new PROTINIS meat, cheese and cracker snacks to try and after sampling them for a few days, I’m having fewer cravings for sugar and the spikes and dips that come with it. I’m also much more satisfied. Prosciutto and provolone and wholewheat crackers with chia seeds? This is next-level snacking, mes amis.
What you see here on my little cheeseboard — four crackers, four pieces of cheese and a generous portion of meat — is what you get in each individual package. (Each pack comes with two packages.) I’m partial to the Prosciutto and Provolone (140 calories, 11 grams of protein) but the Turkey and Cheddar (140 calories, 10 grams of protein) is also quite good.
I used one of the packages for these PROTINIS Prosciutto and Provolone Quiche Cups. It’s a quick and easy breakfast that makes two servings.
PROTINIS make a great healthy snack on the go. I’m going to keep a few on hand in the fridge so I’ve got them at the ready. Some other ways to help you snack healthy on the go:
- Put a bin in your fridge and another in a cupboard stocked with healthy snacks you can grab and go
- Keep fresh fruits and other healthy non-perishable snacks in plain sight and easy reach so you’re more likely to choose them when a craving hits
- Portion healthy foods into several snack-size portions when you return home from the grocery store
To enter to win coupons for 4 packs of PROTINIS (approximate value $20) from Maple Leaf Foods, visit PROTINIS and tell me one of the benefits of foods that contain complete proteins. For additional entries, tweet the following and leave me a separate comment with a link to your tweet. (Feel free to tweet once a day, just be sure to come back here and leave me a separate comment with a link to your tweet.)
