Kissan Butter Chicken Indian Cooking Sauce

Do you hurry for a curry? Adore the tandoor? O M Ghee — Indian food! So comforting and so delicious. So why don’t we make it more often? Well partly because I’ve got a fussy eight-year-old who’d sooner go hungry than try something new. So imagine my surprise last night about an hour after supper and halfway into Nanny McPhee when she piped up out of the blue, “That Indian food was so good!” 

She was raving about the Slow Cooker Butter Chicken and Cauliflower, a ridiculously easy dish I didn’t make so much as assemble. (And I’m totally okay with that. 🙂 ) The secret is the sauce: Kissan’s Butter Chicken Indian Cooking Sauce. The Canadian company sent me a box of their signature spices, pastes and sauces to try and I love that this one did most of the work for you. Just throw it in the slow cooker with chicken and vegetables and forget it for a few hours. (Tho you won’t be able to resist lifting the lid every so often to breathe in the wonderful warmth of Indian spices.)

Slow Cooker Butter Chicken and Cauliflower

Serves 4

Ingredients

400 g skinless, boneless chicken breast

1/2 head cauliflower

2 400 ml jars Kissan Butter Chicken Indian Cooking Sauce

4 tbsps chopped fresh coriander or parsley

4 tbsps Kissan Crispy Fried Onions (optional)

4 large pieces of fresh naan bread (optional but wonderful for sopping up the sauce!)

Directions

Slice chicken into bite-sized pieces. Break cauliflower into florets. Put into the slower cooker with both jars of Kissan Butter Chicken Indian Cooking Sauce. Stir together until the chicken and cauliflower are coated with the sauce.

Cover and cook on high for approximately three hours, or until chicken and cauliflower are cooked and tender.

Garnish with fresh coriander or parsley and Kissan Crispy Fried Onions as desired.

Serve with naan bread and/or over rice.
