March Netflix picks for kids

Netflix VIP large

Oh good, you’re here! You’re just in time. I have some good news I wanted to share with everybody and didn’t want to start without you. No, we’re not having another baby. (But ahhh! That new baby smell!) Moving? Not before I see what Amanda Forrest has in mind for our dining room, that’s for sure. It’s super fun blogging news, everybody! Netflix invited me to join its exclusive group of bloggers — aka the Stream Team — so I’ll be privy to all kinds of exciting news about your favourite and soon-to-be-favourite movies, shows and original series and sharing it here with you! This month we’re going to take a quick look at some of the new shows out for kids. VIP baby!

Netflix Tuesday chocolate

Netflix chocolate! Now that’s what I’m talking about. Netflix sent us a big box of thoughtful treats to go with our March Break viewing, including chocolates for every day of the week and strawberry- and blueberry-flavoured Peabody and Sherman popcorn to munch with the show when the second season airs this Friday. (Um, we may have started a little early. We are on top of it!)

If you’ve got littles in your life who love building LEGO (mine have a bunch of their dad’s from when he was a kid, plus a few of the newer sets) then they’ll be all over the shows. New this month are LEGO Friends: The Power of Friendship (my eight-year-old daughter’s watched each of the two episodes enough times for the theme song to get stuck in my head) and LEGO Bionicle: The Journey to One, which my six-year-old son powered through in a couple of days.

And the second seasons of Dinotrux and the Netflix original series Popples are out — both shows my kids would’ve watched by now if I’d let them but we’ve still got three more days of March Break plus the weekend and I feel like we should really pace ourselves.

What are you and your littles tuning into this week? What are your favourite shows?

I get perks as a member of the Netflix Stream Team (obviously! Hello chocolate!), but all opinions are my own.

  1. This is a terrible comment but….one wine-soaked night, my sister and I binge-watched a whole bunch of kids movies on Netflix including the Barbie tv show. We hadn’t laughed that hard in a long time. So bad, it’s FANTASTIC.

    1. Forget the kids. 🙂 Hee hee. What do you like? Drama? Comedy? Romance? I’ve heard great things about House of Cards and Spy — must make the time to watch both! Have you seen them?

  2. I know a little fellow in Waterdown who would also eat up those shows… hope they see your great post.
Me – let me see a Fred and Ginger movie please.

  3. we watched the new season of Fuller House – i didn’t think i would like it — BUT I DID! 😀 Not sure what to watch next – it is nice to watch something with my 14 year old – but hard to find something we both like 🙂

    1. Fourteen. That’s tough. I’m impressed you’re talking to each other, let alone watching TV together. 🙂 Good job, mama! I’ll put the feelers out and let you know if I get any great recommendations. 🙂
