Five things from Ottawa’s new Simons

We’ve still got one more sleep before it’s open for shopping, but in this special edition of five things I’m sharing five sneak peeks at Ottawa’s new two-storey, 100,000-square-foot Simons store. It’s the anchor of the Rideau Centre‘s 230,000-square-foot expansion and the thirteenth store for the Quebec retailer. Simons CEO, Peter Simons, hosted a media preview last night in advance of the grand opening. Let’s take a look!

simons chantsy and chloe

Ottawa style and beauty bloggers Chloë Gordon and Chantal Sarkisian in Contemporaine, women’s career and casual wear. The store carries a mix of private and leading label brands for men and women from innovative designers around the world, as well as home fashions for the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.

Simons mens shirts

Loving these bicycle and plane motif shirts from the men’s Le31 collection. And about a dozen other things I wanted to pick up then and there. (How brilliant are these pompom phone chargers?)

Simons atrium

The stunning new atrium looking into the Rideau Centre’s new expansion.

And my favourite department, Maison. The store also includes a café and several stunning architectural elements like the striking installation Torrential Red, but that you’ll have to come into the store to see.

Who’s ready to go shopping? Simons opens at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2016.

Thanks to Emily at The Best of This Life for the first photo in this post.
