FabFitFun is a quarterly subscription box out of the US stuffed with fashion, beauty, fitness and lifestyle products. You can buy each box individually — they’re packaged by season — or purchase an annual subscription for all four. FabFitFun sent me the Fall 2016 box to try, so let’s take a look inside and see what’s what.
First, this gorgeous to-go coffee mug from The Created Co. and a Loch and Key plaid blanket scarf from MODCLOTH, each one of a couple of possible designs. Most of the products in the boxes are the same across the board, but a couple vary individually so even if you like to google for sneak peeks inside the box before if arrives (hello me!), there’s still an element of surprise. If you have an annual membership, you get an opportunity to choose the designs you want before your box ships.
I don’t think you can ever have too many mugs and I like the saying on this one, so it’s a win. (Mind you it’s hand-wash only.) And the scarf’s 100% acrylic so super soft and light.
It’s also 55″ x 55″ — large enough to wear belted like a poncho or snuggle under on the couch.
The BrowGal is a clear gel to help your brows stay put. I always have a few strays here and there that I don’t want to pluck because my eyebrows are already so thin, so I like having a product to keep them in line. (It’s the first one of its kind that I’ve tried, and it works.)
Next, Mullein & Sparrow’s French Lavender Body Oil (I like to pour some in the bath, but you can also use it as a moisturizer or for massage) and Skin Laundry Restoring Night Serum, which I’ll probably just use on my hands because most creams make my face break out. It’s light, unscented (well I couldn’t smell anything) and not greasy.
My daughter claimed the colouring book and the pencil crayons but I might sit down with her and do a page or two. Have you coloured lately? It’s so relaxing.
Pure Cosmetics’ Nude Collection Eyeshadow Palette is a beautiful set of 12 different shades and right up my alley. It was a bit tricky to open at first but I think that’s good. Nobody wants makeup opening in their purse or suitcase.
Now the Spongellé Bulgarian Rose Body Wash Infused Buffer I haven’t yet used, mainly because I’m not crazy about the scent. But I think my mom would like it, so I’ll save it for her. It’s supposed to exfoliate, cleanse and moisturize at the same time.
If there’s a way to shoot a pretty photo with the Cottonelle Fresh Care Flushable Cleansing Cloths and the Secret Outlast XTend Clear Gel Antipersperant/Deodorant, I haven’t found it. These are bonus sponsored products and I’m sure I’ll use them both.
And the only real fitness product in the box, the Toesox Toeless Fitness Socks. They have little grippy things on the bottom so they’d be great for yoga or pilates, but I don’t do either of them so I’ll probably just wear them around the house for fun. They feel good. Cushiony. If a little hard to put on.
The box also comes with a guide that tells you about each product and some of the entrepreneurs behind them.
And the total value of the box? What would you guess?
It’s $239.99 USD, sold individually for $49.99 USD or $179.99 USD for a one-year subscription. Shipping in the continental US is free, but an additional $8 per box for Canada, Alaska and Hawaii.
I think the blanket scarf together with the mug and the eyeshadow is worth the price of the box alone, and I could totally see myself saving items from future boxes to give as gifts. (This box just happened to be almost perfectly tailored to me!)
The Fall 2016 is sold out (wahhhh!) but if you hurry, you can order the Winter 2016 box online and get $10 off your first box with the code JULIE. (How fab and fun!) Shipping starts late November, but the box is expected to sell out way before then.
What do you think? Is FabFitFun something you’ll try?
FabFitFun sent me the Fall 2016 box in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
