Holidays are happier with Trollhunters on Netflix

Merry Christmas and happy holidays, everybody! We’ve got dinner in the oven and Christmas music playing on the radio and everyone is chilling in their own way on what’s turned out to be a mostly merry day. But anyone whose got kids home for the holidays knows the holly jolly can only last so long — the threat of boredom looms large with so much time away from school and the usual activities and you’ve got to be quick on your feet with a few strategies to bust those I’ve got nothing to doooooo blues. This year Netflix gave us one the whole family can enjoy: 13 hours of adventure, suspense and imagination with the all-new series Trollhunters.

The 26-episode animated production was created for Netflix by acclaimed filmmaker, Guillermo del Toro. It’s about an ordinary teen who’s called to save the worlds of humans and trolls when the two collide.

We’ve got lots of visiting ahead of us yet and grand plans to skate and sled and craft and play board games and do more baking and frankly, I’m exhausted just thinking about it. But give me a cup of tea and a few hours curled up on the couch with my guys happily enthralled with some good family friendly viewing and I’m a happier, much more rested mama.

Keep Trollhunters in your back pocket to watch when you’ve got downtime this holiday. I’m off to set the table for dinner (and if I’m lucky, wrangle the kids into helping me.) I hope your holidays are happy, and thank you so much for reading throughout the year.

As a member of the Netflix #StreamTeam, I get special perks, however all opinions are my own.
