Five things + a Netflix giveaway for two!

It’s sweltering hot outside and hubby has the kids at the pool, so I thought I’d pop in here for a bit and write a quick hello and how-do. AS IF it only takes me a bit to write a post. Ha! When pigs fly. But I’ll to try to make it quick. Here’s a few pics from life lately (starting with this snap my mom took when she visited last month) and a Netflix giveaway just because.

Five things June 11 2017

2. I’m doing another 30-Day Challenge this month with The Dailey Method barre and cycle studio (this time as a Brand Ambassador; you can see how my first challenge went here) and last weekend they offered a free barre class at Lansdowne Park for the City of Om yoga festival. Which was frickin’ hard. But I felt so good for going. My friend Ann from Kickass Living did the class with me. She’s doing June’s Challenge along with our buddy Cathy from Cathy Thinking Out Loud and together we’re encouraging each other along, pushing each other to keep going when the going gets tough. As much as I love the classes, there are definitely days when I don’t feeeeeeeeeel like going, whether that’s because I’m anxious or tired or lazy or what. But knowing we’re all in it together helps get me there. Not I just need to convince them to try the bikes with me.

3. I bought this bag on ebay a month ago and it finally arrived this week. Lemon tell you, it’s going to be in heavy rotation this summer.

4. I can’t wait to go strawberry picking and use local berries in salads like this easy one with spinach, walnuts, blueberries and goat cheese.

5. Waiting on the O-Train wearing my favourite headphones from Specter Wireless. The company sent me a few pairs last month for my Father’s Day giveaway which you guys LOVED, so I’ll try to do another one at some point.

And speaking of giveaways, I’ve got another great one for you!

In my last post I mentioned how much I’m looking forward to seeing Glow when it premieres on Netflix June 23, and I have feeling you know someone who’d love to watch it to. But there’s just one problem: they don’t have Netflix! (The horror! But seriously, I don’t know what we’d do without it. We’ve never had cable and would be lucky to get two channels with rabbit ears, so Netflix is everything in our house.) But we can fix that! Netflix is gifting a three-month subscription to one lucky try small things reader and the Netflix newbie they tag.

So what do you have to do? Follow me on Twitter, then post the following tweet (inserting the Twitter handle of the person you know who needs Netflix in their life) then come back here and post the link to your tweet in the comments.

Hey @trysmallthings, I want to win a 3-month Netflix subscription for ___ & me so we can watch Glow together!

(You can shorten the tweet if need be.)

Feel free to tweet once per day, just make sure to come back here and leave a comment with a link to the tweet.

A tweet will be chosen at random on July 1, 2017, and if it’s yours, you and the person you tagged will both win a three-month subscription! (You can have a subscription already, but the person you tagged must be new to Netflix. And if you’re both newbies, that’s groovy too.) The contest is open to Canadian residents (excluding Quebec) 18+ and ends at 11:59 p.m. on June 30, 2017.

Talk to you again soon, everybody! I have a couple of fantastic books I want to share with you and a few more surprises too.

PS: The kids are LONG back from the pool.

Update July 1, 2017: Congratulations Wendy H!

I receive special perks as a member of the Netflix #StreamTeam, however all opinions are my own.
