Thomas Allen & Son sent me Unicorn Food in exchange for an honest review; I’m partnering with Indigo and Alt on the events mentioned here; and Penguin Random House Canada sent me This Moment Is Your Life (And So Is This One) for review purposes. All opinions are my own and from the heart.
So let’s pretend I’m not writing this on a Monday, because that just seems like a weird day for a round-up. I wanted to catch you up on a few things, share some exciting events coming up, and make sure you didn’t miss out on two giveaways ending this week. But first, can we talk about this incredible Rainbow Pull-Apart Bread? Continue reading “Five things (and a few extra things)”
I was a guest of Alt Hotel and The Captain’s Boil and received the products in this post free of charge to review. All opinions are my own and from the heart.
You know when you tell yourself you’ll get to it tomorrow and suddenly it’s four months down the road and you’re no further ahead? Uggggggh. You feel crappy, right? Guilty, lazy, maybe anxious — all the things. I’ve been neglecting my fitness since before the holidays and the way I’ve been talking to myself because of it hasn’t been pretty. But that changes today. Today I’m taking a baby step to take better care of me with my first spin class of the year. But before I go (and I’m already in my gym clothes so there’s no going back now, right?), here’s a quick look at some of the things I’ve been doing lately, like enjoying some local eats and drinks at Ottawa’s Alt Hotel last Thursday (above). The cocktail party at the altcetera café was a chance to sample some specialty cocktails and nibblies made using locally-sourced ingredients.

Well hey y’all! How have you been? I want to say I’m just home from Florida but truthfully it’s coming up on a week and apart from an event on Tuesday night, I’ve been mostly lazing about the house in my jammies watching the new Queer Eye on Netflix and organizing a few odd things here and there. I’m overdue for check in and thought I’d pick up where we left off with a few pictures from my trip. I also have the potential winners of January’s Thursday Plantation and Sweet Reads Box giveaways to announce so we’ll get to that too. Continue reading “Five things (Florida edition) + did you win?”
I received the KitchenAid stand mixer and slicer/shredder attachment from TSC for free to review. The opinions expressed in my post are my own and not those of Rogers. And the same for Mad Radish — they sent me a gift card to pay for lunch. I think the gift cards are a great idea for holiday giving. (And receiving! Just sayin’.)
At some point today I’ll actually get out of my jammies and into the shower but I may just put them right back on because that’s how I roll. I have no plans to go out and all the plans to stay in (love those days!), and a pot of tea at the ready to keep me going for a while. Here’s the highlight reel from recent weeks and a reminder about an amazing giveaway wrapping up tomorrow morning that I don’t want you to miss. Happy Sunday! Continue reading “Five things + a giveaway I don’t want you to miss!”
Even for a few days away I tend to way overpack but my travel essentials really don’t take up much room. Here are the must-haves I brought to Wasaga Beach for a girls’ weekend last month at Lakes of Wasaga Cottage and RV Resort. (Full disclosure: All of the products I’m talking about in this post were provided free of charge, but I wouldn’t share them with you if I didn’t love them and think you might too.) It’s sweltering hot outside and hubby has the kids at the pool, so I thought I’d pop in here for a bit and write a quick hello and how-do. AS IF it only takes me a bit to write a post. Ha! When pigs fly. But I’ll to try to make it quick. Here’s a few pics from life lately (starting with this snap my mom took when she visited last month) and a Netflix giveaway just because. Continue reading “Five things + a Netflix giveaway for two!”
