I received the KitchenAid stand mixer and slicer/shredder attachment from TSC for free to review. The opinions expressed in my post are my own and not those of Rogers. And the same for Mad Radish — they sent me a gift card to pay for lunch. I think the gift cards are a great idea for holiday giving. (And receiving! Just sayin’.)

At some point today I’ll actually get out of my jammies and into the shower but I may just put them right back on because that’s how I roll. I have no plans to go out and all the plans to stay in (love those days!), and a pot of tea at the ready to keep me going for a while. You are not that friend. — Daily Odd Compliment • Pushing myself out of the house in the winter can be tougher than a two-dollar steak, but the chance to catch up with my pal Carolyn yesterday over a leisurely brunch made it well worth the effort. For months she’s been working harder than a squirrel trying to bury a nut on a marble floor, and a long chat was even longer overdue. We went to Origin Trade, a coffee house and lounge in the Byward Market.
